Animazement 2k2 My half asleep report
Thursday Night/ Friday extremely early morning

I've been waiting to goto AZ since last year I was unable to make it. So a year passes.
A Day before the con the Fujikoma crew and I gathered and when things were settled we got
our travel on. Smooth trip after we got out of the city. There was the one minor set back
of Crazy Bee's car electrical system freeking out. From what I understand Unlucky Charms
(Josh) was trying to put a tape to CD player adapter..so he forced it and then I see Bee
flashing me to pull over.... I drove 85% of the way til every one voted that Lee~ The
Fanboy Assassin should take over since I appeared to be falling asleep. I let him drive
the Civic but I was a bit freeked so I took over again. ^_^; My poor Honda can take soo
much...it's bad enough I max it out often ^_^;;;. In between the drive there was the
occasional stops and the unnecessary Donut move ^_^.
We arrived around 10:00 AM Friday Morning

Friday Morning at AZ

I was intending to sleep for some odd hours before I went exploring. I didn't get an
ounce of sleep the entire time that Lee drove. What made things worse is that I was up
around 8 AM thursday morning. So that's a Day w/o sleep. I tried to goto sleep...that was
a bad idea. Couldn't goto sleep. I was annoyed by that. I really don't know why. I guess
the excitement? I walked around for a bit. Eventually I met up with Crazy Bee for the
Dealer's room. We hung out and talked and joked. Then the dealer's room opened up. Very
nice ^_^ I was happy to see import games. I so wanted the Tekken 4 ;_; But It was 1) Mad
Expensive and 2) No Japanese PS2.

Friday Afternoon / Night

I honestly can't remember much. I ran into Ichiban and Sammo. Always great to see
Ichiban and friggin' cool to meet Sammo. Then stupid Mappyman forcing me to say Hi to
Angel. I'm a complete wuss when It comes to approaching anyone I have yet to meet in
person....  I saw her around the con a few times prior to running into Mappy. Long
story short Mappy friggin bum rushed me and they left me while I was talking to Angel.I
was a bit freaked for a moment because I really didn't know what to say. On top of that I
was lacking sleep. So I wasn't really all there. Mappy always does this to me =P Refer to
AWA6 Sat. night. Erin, smack him for me!

At some point later on that afternoon we got some pizza. I was sent out to get some
paper plates and napkins from the local Eckards. The hotel desk lady told me 6 lights down
the road. She failed to mention that those 6 lights were separated quite far from each
other. I could never live in an area like that. Everything is too far apart from
everything else. I guess I'm just used to city life.

Eventually that night I got something else to eat with Gecko. We hit up Wendys. Went
and watched the anime parodies. Good stuff.....This is what I get for being half asleep
friday. I can't remember anything else. Onto Sat!

Saturday Morning

I got up and went around an explored more. I played some Tekken 4. Beat the game with
Hworang and played a bit of Tekken Force mode. I now can not wait for the game to come out
domestically so I can spend hours and hours into this game. Eventually I went back to the
dealer's room and picked up some Cds.  Got some more pictures. Hung out with the
crew. Gathered for a message board group shot and then got caught up with the real one
where most of the board met up.

Ran into Tim. Talked and bothered him for a bit. Talked to Angel a bit. Also ran into
Carolina. Then hit up the local Wendys for lunch with FairyDust, Barbara, and Gecko.

Saturday Afternoon

Funny shit happened when we went to Wendys. FairyDust was still in her Pfil
costume. She got out the car and BAM! You see the whole restaurant stop and stare. Omg! I
wish I had a video camera for this. We all ate and noticed some of the reactions.
Eventually Gecko started filming the reactions. Funny stuff XD.

If I remember right we all went to the AMVs. There was some good stuff...then we left.
  Took more pictures. Got some Dinner. Etc etc ...Crap..If I forget anything I'm
sorry ;_; I can't really remember anything else right now as I write this.

Saturday Night

I realized after dinner I was a bit late to get my copy of Blood: the Last Vampire
signed. So I hurried and went and got it signed. XD friggin' awesome. Then prepared to
what I was hoping to be a good dance. Eventually I went down and checked it out. Argghh!
They played music you can't really dance too...Good music! But you really can't dance to
it. Too much of a hip-hop beat. But 10xs better then what they play at AWA's dance/party.
I guess it's just me and my taste for Trance, Happy Hardcore, Rave and Hard Techno. ^_^;;
Imo that's the crap you can really dance to.

Most of that time I went to check it out I was with Sammo. Her and I hung out for a
while. In-between checking back with the dance in hopes of good dance music there were
random encounters of Drunken Mappyman, Drunken Tabletop Phantom, and Drunken Crazy Bee and
their quest to steal my googles. At one point Sammo and I gave up on the dance and decided
to get the Laptop and lounge around the lobby reviewing the pictures I had taken already.
That failed instantly when I saw the Tekken 4 tournament going on. Easy win on my first
round...the girl I went against couldn't play the game. Then my second match I got my ass
royally kicked. I had my fun.

I talked and hung out a bit more and decided to just stay in the room and play some
Beat Mania IIDX. Drunken Crazy Bee and I talked a bit. Haha XD He kept talking and
talking. More then normally. Am I the only one who doesn't like alcohol? When I was done I
wanted to play more Wipeout Fusion, that failed so I gave up. I went ahead and called it a
night. By that time it was 3 AM. I had to goto sleep anyways...who else is going to drive?
0_O Not Barbara...XD She can't drive. I've tried to teach her. Lessons sorta stopped. I'm
still a bit terrified of her driving. Any way...I went to sleep! Woo!

Sunday Morning

Woke up and packed up. Got more CDs. Packed up. Took some more pictures. Said my good
byes. Then finally got on my way home after following Unlucky Charm's mid directions was
some how corrected. Encountered a corn field, South of the Border and Rice (Ricers).

Overall Reaction / Apologies

I liked Animazement. There wasn't as much tension in the air that I feel at some of the
other cons I have gone to. Something I'd goto again despite that civilization is scarce on
the outskirts of NC's Capitol. I'm not really used to a country side area like that.

My apologies goes to any one who was offended or bothered by me.

FairyDust- Your cosplay rock. It was awesome hitting up Wendys
on Sat. I hope you enjoy the Para Max ost and the FantAsia cds. ^_^

General Format , Carolina and Ichiban- It was great talking and
hanging out with you guys again!

GeckoSan- Always great to hang out with you! Hope you didn't
mind the crew's insanity in the room. X_x And thanks again for getting that shirt for me!
I would go crazy if I left it back in NC.

Sammo- It was great to meet you. It's rare to find people with
maturity at your age.

his artwork! Tim's the man. Awesome artist! It was great to see you again ^_^.

Angel- Pictures or words here on the net don't do any justice
compared to when you meet Her in person. It was awesome to finally meet you. I feel bad
for not saying anything earlier prior to my friends putting me in that situation. But
again, Awesome meeting you.

Bunny- We didn't get to talk much but it was great to see you
again. Take care!

Malice Mouser, RevHabiki, Magus- I briefly met you guys. I wish
I could have talked more. But it was still great to put a face and a voice behind the
handles on the messageboards.
