Anime Express 5- Full story.
Morning-
Picked up Bran, Barbara and Crazy Bee and got to Daytona in 1 hr and 30 mins. Exactly what I had originally said I would. Got to the con..a bit slow..dry. Dealers room opened late..like 30 minutes late. Did some shopping. Talked amonst friends and hung out. Eventualy went out for lunch time.
Noon/ Lunch time-
FLCOSP and my friends with me went out to China Super Buffet (I belive that's what it was called). This con I didn't bother cosplaying. But every one was in cosplay. Got my lunch on..ate some donut things, chicken nuggets, fries..Stuff. Then went to the mall. Saw some odd reactions from the locals to the cosplay group that was just going around. Eventually Crazy Bee and I parted to hit a car show that was just down the road.
Prior to going to the con Sushi had given us some information about this car show that was going to be like Friggin Hot Import Nights. All we saw was a bunch of old style hot rods and old classic cars..a Lamborghini here and there...woo..yea..shit. Wasted 20 bucks there. Most imported thing there was my Honda Civic. But the ride back to the con was interesting.
We got caught up in some traffic. To the left of me this guy runs past and hops on this Jet ski that was to the left and ahead of me. He starts riding it and for a good 5-10 car radius you hear people cheering and clapping. Hilarious shit, unfortunately Crazy Bee didn't think to whip out my camera and take some pictures. Funny shit there. We got back to con and moved about for a bit..a bit slow of a time. Eventually the GGX Tournament came around. I got in 2nd place. It was easy til this guy friggin tore me up like there was no tomarrow. I am agressive but this guy had the upper hand here. Tournament prize was the GGX soundtrack that I've had for a year already so I don't care for it.
Crazy Bee and I eventually fount ourselves watching Macross til around 7 Pm. The Amv contest started. I entered my two videos along with Bee who entered his AMV. As of this time as I write this, so far the information is negative on either of us winning. They announced the winners on sunday.
Then Name that Cosplay contest came up. I entered. I tore them up. 36 friggin points. Woo yea! Then the cosplay competition came up. I went to go see some of it. I orignally planned to leave early. Until when the cosplay contest started, the announced the Name that cosplay contest winner (Me XD). Then out of no where they (Steve Bennette and the other guy...I can't remember his name. He was cool) wanted me to be a judge for the contest. That was friggin awesome.
Being a cosplay Judge is an awesome experience. I got to choose my judges choice. Which was the We all bleed for ice scream skit. The thought of Iori from KOF wanting ice cream and fighting for it was hilarious. But the part that was so unexpected was when this guy (According to Crazy Bee it was a Nes-smash bros- cosplayer) came by and beat Iori behind the knees and took the ice cream was awesome. That got my attention. ^_^
All the skits were awesome. Cosplay Judging is a unique conventioning Experience. I hope to do it again!
Then after all the decisions were done we announced the winners. After that, I took some pictures and got my travel back on home. Hopefully owning AE year by year will be continuous ^_^.
